Tempe Rio Salado Little League is a chartered local league within Little League's Western region, Arizona District 13. We are committed to families, volunteers and children coming together to create community through the challenge of youth baseball and softball.

For the 2012 season, we have agreed to enter into combined play with Tempe South Little League for the Minors and Majors divisions. This significantly benefits the players in the following ways:

  • More teams with which to compete
  • Higher level of overall competition
  • Expanded list of great fields on which to play

Minors and Majors Showcases

Players wanting to participate in Minors and Majors divisions are required to participate in a league skill evaluation, also known as a showcase. This is especially important for 9 year old players wanting to jump from Farm to Minors and 11 year old players wanting to jump from Minors to Majors. The competition is stiff and moving up early is not common. Players wanting to make the leap ought to be practicing hard in advance of the showcase.

There will be two showcase events in early February. Showcases are being managed jointly with Tempe South Little League, Showcase events will be full and late registration will not be available.

If your player intends to participate in Minors or Majors and has not registered yet, contact us immediately to register and sign up for a showcase event! Showcase events are scheduled for Feb 4th and Feb 9th.

Registration Opportunities

Baseball and softball registration for the 2012 season here! Teams are forming for players ages 4 through 14. Be sure to bring (1) an original birth certificate for the player, (2) three forms of proof of residency (only one can be a utility bill). Registration fees are:

Baseball Softball
Tball - $60 8 years old - $60
Farm - $70 9-10 years old - $70
Minors & Majors - $100 11-12 years old - $80
Juniors - $120 13+ years old - $90

You may complete the player registration form (en Espanol), TRSLL registration information (en Espanol), code of conduct (en Espanol), photo release form and medical release form (en Espanol) and bring them with you or fill the forms out at the event.

Volunteer Opportunities

Local little leagues are 100% volunteer-led organizations with more needs than visibily obvious. If you love kids and baseball, there is a place for you. Our league has opportunities to be part of the game as coaches, managers and team Moms; part of administration overseeing our season program called Rio Ball and assisting with registration drives; and part of event management with our season kickoff Opening Day ceremonies.

Complete and bring a volunteer form to any of our registration events along with a legible photocopy of your valid driver's license or other government issued photo identification to join the TRSLL team!
